If you are one of those who are lucky and that you can afford high-tech cellular phones
then that is good for you
however
if you want or need a cellular phone but cannot afford high-tech cellular phones
then you may acquire a cheap cellular phone. If your can find a cheap cellular phone that has text messaging capacity
it will be better for you.

Sending and receiving internet communication may not be available for cheap cellular phone; you do not need it as much anyway. However
if you do need to be able to send and receive message in your cellular phone from internet sites
cheap cellular phone is not going to be any good.

Cheap cellular phones notwithstanding
if you can afford cellular phone plan that provide free cellular phones
you may choose a cellular phone plan that will provide free cellular phone with reasonable and advanced features. People will actually be annoyed if you are not instantly and constantly available rather than being pleased when you do call. People expecting you to be available all the time may be annoying. Cell phone calls follow you everywhere you are including your bathroom. Even during nighttime when you want to rest
cell phones continue to ring and annoy you. If it is important
no problem but if it is very menial
why you need to be bothered so late.

Today in this modern society
we live in and the proliferation of cell phones we see people talking anywhere and everywhere. If used for business
this may prove to be very effective and worthy. However
for very menial issues being bothered in your sleep and even during your bathroom time may be quite annoying if not outright disgusting. However
if you make yourself available all the time
you created your own nightmare.

Cell phone etiquette is getting to be a forgotten concept. You will see people talking on the phone loudly and disturbs people nearby in restaurants and even in offices. I am sure by now
once or twice in a meeting you will notice that when a cell phone rings
almost everyone around will immediately look for their cell phones. If you were the one talking
and then the person in front of you talks on his phone
how would you feel? I am sure you will feel belittled and ignored. Rude practice
and should be changed.

It may help people who use cell phones to follow certain degree of etiquette with respect to the use of cell phones specially in places where you may seem rude if you use or even when your cell phone rings.

When you are in a place of worship
it may be necessary to leave your cell phone in the house or at least turn it off if you do not want to be away with it. This is because ringing cell phone will not just disturb you while you pray it will also disturb others. You do not need to show off your expensive gadget in a place of worship.

During meetings
please turn off your cell phone; it is rude to have your phone ringing while somebody speaks. Disruption may cause problems especially when the meeting tackles extremely important issues. However
if you are waiting for terribly important call
you may use the vibrate mode of your cell phone to alert you when a call is in-coming and leave the meeting if you need to answer the call. You may also inform the possible caller that you are in a meeting and that you cannot be disturbed.

When traveling and if you are on-board an aircraft
you will be required to turn off your phone. This is because electronics devices may interfere with the aircraft's avionics. Thus
it is a requirement to turn of your phone for safety reasons. However
for extremely long flights
airline companies allow cell phone usage at a certain time
if you really need to make a phone call
use this time allotted if necessary.

Cell phone have become to be a necessity nowadays
that is why most people use it and cell phone manufacturers have continuously develop different usage and functions for this very small gadget. Be globally competitive
but you should understand that being rude is not part of modernity. Follow certain degree of etiquette; this will be very helpful to you and your business.

Cell Phone or PDA

The term cell phone is becoming nondescriptive of today's portable devices. The units available lately do more than just make and receive phone calls. With the ever decreasing price of electronics
things such as cameras
GPS
calendars
and contact managers have become available even on the cheapest of models. There is such a fine line between the function of a cell phone and a Personal Digital Assistant
that maybe the term "cell phone" will fall by the wayside!

How to choose a cell phone? First of all
any communication outside the device will have to be paid for. Cell phone plans are a whole different topic. But
it is partlly related because some of the functions of these cell phones or PDAs require communication with the internet or other online service. Primarily
you want a device to talk on. A good place to start shopping is the many forums that are related to differeent models. Enter terms like "cell phone review" or "cell phone forum". Many times there are subforums related exclusively to a certain brand or model. If you browse through these forums
you will find many dislikes and likes of many different models. Although consider this- many people post their negative experiences far more than their postive ones in forums. So
keep that in mind that there are no perfect electronic devices. Notice features discussed such as holdability (is the device TOO small or big)
sound clarity
reception
how easy to use the menus system of the cell phone. These are key factors. Your device might open your garage door for you. But if you despise using it all day becasue it is uncomfortable to hold or has bad reception
then do not go for it.

Once you have a list of a few models
consider the other functions of the cell phones and what you really need. DO you NEED a camera? Many are just toys. Some models today actually have 1.3 megapixel cameras in them- just like the first digital cameras. How about ringtone quality? Is that important? Some are just "FM synthesized" and give you your typical blleps and bloops arranged into a song. Other have full polyphonic instrumentsplaying the tones. Others play a section of a real song. Do you drive a lot? Some phones have what is called Bluetooth. This is a wireless protocall for connecting to other dvices that are close by. It is excellent for using in your car that has a Bluetooth receiver in it- you can have a handsfree setup with no wwires! Some cars are coming with this function already
but there are kits to add it to any car. Most exciting is the ability to accept memory cards and store MP3s and even movies! The screens are small
but with amazing quailty! Notice
these are just options that enhance the user experience- but sound quailty of the voice and reception far outweigh these options.

Do you have data needs? Some devices have either a Palm Pilot or Windows CE computer in them. These are great if you use these types of devices and want to carry one device. Maybe you are carrying a laptop soley for using somelike like the ACT! Contact manager. Well there is a Palm version of that so you can take all you ACT! data with you
without ther laptop. Maybe you need to be up to date on the latest news? These devices typically also have a small web browser in them
so you can connect to the internet. Granted
you cant get the same webcontent a real computer could due to the screen size
but you can still get the information you need
send an email
receive email
etc. The downside is the size and the cost. They typically are twice the size of a nice compact phone
and sell in the $350+ area. Also
keep in mind that these data services cost extra money. So
if you need these functins
you might start your quest by lookin for cell phone companies that have better priced
or unlimited online service along with your cell minutes. Then you might have to chose a phone from that company's linup.

If you spend the time thinking about what you need and attack the project the right way
you will end up with something you will wonder how you ever lived without. Today's cell phones and PDAs have become integrated heavily into or society. Enjoy your cell phone and use it responsibly! Some states have laws that you cannot hold a cell phone in your hand while driving
so you might want to consider the Bluetooth option or a car kit. Remember
turn your ringer down in the movies or other quiet public place!

Cell Phone Calling Card Recharging Talking Power

So I don’t know if I was the only person who didn’t know this
but it is more expensive to call a cell phone internationally than it is to call a landline. This applies even if you are calling from a landline and not from a cell phone. I found this out from a friend of mine
and suddenly felt very bad about the fact hat I only had a cell phone number in Venezuela for my friends and family to call. Now of course it is more expensive to call internationally from a cell phone but I expected that
however I did not realize it was more expensive to call to a cell phone.

Well the not having a landline thing I can’t do much about
but the price of calling me I can assist with. There are apparently now calling cards that are made specifically for cell phones. My mom sometimes needs to call me during the day when she is not home. This of course results in a long string of text messages as it is exorbitantly expensive to call internationally from your cell phone. However I have found cell phone calling cards. These are of course more expensive than landline calling cards but still cheaper than calling from a cell phone.

I of course found this information on the internet
like I find all the information I want. This service is just like a calling card in the fact that it is prepaid. However it adds on to your normal cell phone service in that you do not have to actually have the card on hand each time you want to make a call
You simply have to call the access number and it recognizes your cell phone calling card. From there you can call anywhere in the world at up to a 75% savings form your normal fee. Oh the wonders of the things you can find on the internet.

Category 5 Cable Category 5e Cable

In the technological world we live in today we are all interconnected through millions of cables whether they can be seen or not. What we will be looking into today is the intercal design and purpose of two special cables called Category 5 cable and category 6 cable. Category 5 cable
commonly known as Cat 5
is a twisted pair cable type designed for high signal integrity. Many such cables are unshielded but some are shielded. Category 5 has been superseded by the Category 5e specification. This type of cable is often used in structured cabling for computer networks such as Ethernet
and is also used to carry many other signals such as basic voice services
token ring
and ATM (at up to 155 Mbit/s
over short distances).
Organizations such as the Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA) and Electronic Industries Association (EIA) set specific product standards
and these guidelines have resulted in cables being classified into various categories based on their performance levels. Just in case you’re not too familiar with cabling terminology here are a few straightforward definitions and statistics on these three common grades of network cable:

Cat 5: Out of the three types of cable we’ll be discussing
Category 5 is the most basic. Cat 5 cable is available in two varieties: Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
the type widely used in the United States
and Screened Twisted Pair (SCTP)
which has shielding to provide a measure of extra protection against interference
but is rarely used outside of Europe. Cables belonging to Category 5 are either solid or stranded: Solid Cat 5 is more rigid
and the better choice if data needs to be transmitted over a long distance
while Stranded Cat 5 is very flexible and most likely to be used as patch cable. Cat 5 cable can support 10 or 100 Mbps Ethernet
and has a capability of up to 100MHz.
to help you better choose the right one to fit your needs.

Cat 5e: Cat 5e (which stands for Category 5
enhanced) cable goes along the same lines as basic Cat 5
except that it fulfills higher standards of data transmission. While Cat 5 is common in existing cabling systems
Category 5e has almost entirely replaced it in new installations. Cat 5e can handle data transfer at 1000 Mbps
is suitable for Gigabit Ethernet
and experiences much lower levels of near-end crosstalk (NEXT) than Cat 5.
Both CAT-5 and CAT-5e have 100 ohm impedance and electrical characteristics supporting transmissions up to 100 MHz. The differences between CAT-5 and CAT-5e show in all aspects of performance: capacitance
frequency
resistance
attenuation
and NEXT. CAT-5e components were designed with high-speed gigabit Ethernet in mind. While CAT-5 components may function to some degree in a gigabit Ethernet
they perform below standard during high-data transfer scenarios. CAT-5e cables work with ATM and gigabit speed products. Simply
if you are using a 100Mbps switch
get CAT-5e cable instead of CAT-5.

Common Questions:

Is CAT-5e backwards compatible?
Yes it works with any 10BaseT or 100BaseT network cards and hubs.
CAT-5 is also upwardly compatible with CAT-5e
however your network throughput will only be as fast as the slowest part.

Can I run CAT-5e Ethernet cable outside?
CAT-5e cable is not rated for outdoor use; however it can generally be used without a problem. If possible
run the cable through some kind of conduit to prevent moisture or an attractive site for lightning to strike. You should be able to find gray PVC conduit suitable for cable at any hardware store. Remember
100
Meters is your max distance
without some kind of hub
bridge or amplification.

What is the operating temp for CAT-5e cable?
Operating Temp for CAT-5e cable: -10C to 60C

Calling Cards - their so much cheaper that land lines

Calling cards are those cards you get handed to you on the street sometimes
or see advertised in corner shops. They’re a cheap way to call internationally – much cheaper than a normal landline phone – and they’re getting more and more popular as more people choose to live and work in foreign countries and make friends internationally.

So how do calling cards work? There are two main kinds of cards: free and paid-for. Free cards have a premium rate phone number on that you then call and enter your card number and PIN number. The premium rate phone call pays for a certain number of minutes for you to the country of your choice. Paid-for cards work similarly with the card number and the PIN
except that you buy them in a shop instead of paying with a premium rate call.

The reason your calls can be so much cheaper than usual when you use a calling card is that they are no longer being routed through the normal phone network. Instead
calling card companies are free to construct their own international telephone networks
often using advances in technology to their advantage.

Most modern calling cards actually route calls over the Internet
which means that an international call in fact becomes only a local call at each end
with the Internet acting as a ‘bridge’ between the two phone networks. This means that the calling card companies can make a lot of money for very little work
while also providing a much cheaper service than usual to the customer.

If you want to cut out the middleman
though
you might consider using a voice-over-IP service on your computer
such as Skype. This allows you to make calls for free over the Internet
and at local rate to landline phones all over the world. While you have to have a computer and Internet access and use a headset instead of a phone
the calls are a lot cheaper than even the cheapest calling card.

Calling Cards How To Make An Informed Buying Decision

Calling cards can be an excellent way to save money
both at home and abroad. Calling cards can offer you the lowest prices in domestic and international long distance service
no matter where you call from.

This means that the next time you're traveling
you won't have to pay the hotel their ridiculous long distance charges. Some hotels charge as much as $8 per minute! With a calling card
you can get rates for less than a penny a minute - now that's dome savings!

But if you want to save as much money as possible
you need to know several things about choosing the correct calling card for your uses. The cheapest is not always the best. Here are several factors to consider:

1 – is there a connection fee?
Some calling cards charge you a fee for each call you make
usually in exchange for lower rates. If you make short calls
this setup could be expensive for you.

2 – is there an expiration date?
Some calling cards have an expiration date – if you don't use the minutes on the card within a certain number of days or weeks
they become invalid. Of course
this would not matter to you if you make lots of calls on a regular basis
and would use up the card before it expired.

3 – how do the international rates work?
If you will be calling to more than one country
look carefully at how the international rates work. Some cards may give you very low rates to one country
but high rates to other countries. Some domestic calling cards do not allow international calling at all
or charge very high rates. Every card is different – just check before you buy.

All in all
if you get the right calling card for your uses
you can save a great deal of money over time. Just use these tips to ensure that you get the right calling card for you.

Calling Card Distributer Finding Only The Best

Okay so there are numerous ways to find calling cards these days. The most conventional and probably easiest way to find then is to go to your local grocery or drug store and simply ask for one. A lot of gas stations also carry them; they are not hard to find. However if you are really worried about getting the best rate and finding the right card
I have good news. There now appear to be actual calling card distributors available on the internet.

Of course I found these calling card distributors in the internet. Isn’t that how you find everything nowadays; on the internet? Well so most of the pages I found act kind of as a search engines for the calling cards they stock; it is kind of like an eBay for calling cards. You can type in the country you are calling from and the country you are calling to and they will give you a huge list of all the possible calling cards out there and their rates-. The one search I did turned up with 20 results. Now some of these cards I am sure are hard to find in your grocery stores of drug stores; and most stores only sell one or two kinds of cards. However; you can actually order these cards online. These sites act like online calling card distributors for people who need them.

I can’t say why I am surprised at this service. You can find most things on the internet now. It just seems like such a small industry and not one that people would develop entire internet sites and businesses around. However I guess you can now make a business out of anything if you want to
and now should you really need an international calling card
and are really worried about the rates; well here is your solution.

Callcentric rate plans - technology made affordable

Callcentric internet phone service is perhaps the only company that allows you to make calls all over the world at a rate which would be considered cheap by any standards. Both have a relatively big customer base and an equally big reputation in the industry. Both offer lots of value added services to their customers and are considered very cheap when compared to traditional international phone calls. Despite these similarities
there are a few things that can be compared between Callcentric and Skype to highlight certain features that separate one from the other.

Callcentric offers four plans that could be considered the cheapest in the market. They are Callcentric IP Freedom Plan
Callcentric Pay per Call
Callcentric North America Unlimited
and Callcentric World Select. All of them offer unlimited PC to PC calls to other Callcentric members for free
wherever in the world they are. IP Freedom Plan is considered the cheapest of them all
as it provides free calls to other members
wherever they are. At no monthly charge
no surcharge
no hidden fees
no per-call rate
and no other commitment
this is considered the best bargain. All you need is an adapter or software and you are good to go with the Callcentric IP Freedom plan.

Skype also has a similar structure
as calls made to any Skype customer are free all over the world. In fact
Skype became extremely popular due to this feature
as free PC to PC calls were something really rare at the time when Skype brought in this feature. So
basically this plan works the same way for Skype and Callcentric. Free PC to phone international call and phone calls from the PC are something everyone looks forward to while using Skype and Callcentric
and this is the area where Callcentric scores over Skype.

Callcentric has plans such as Pay per Call
North America Unlimited
and World Select which offer tremendous value for the money you pay. At a miserly monthly rate around $19.95 per month
you will be able to make unlimited phone calls to the USA and Canada. With this plan
you will be able to make hundreds of calls in a month and still pay an incredibly low $19.95.

In the World Select plan
Callcentric goes a step ahead of its competitors and offer unlimited calls to people all over the world for a monthly rate of $29.95. Thanks to the wide network of Callcentric with over 35 countries across the globe
you can call any of your near and dear ones any number of times for just around $30 a month.

Skype has an offer called Skype Credit which asks you to pay some amount and you also need to pay a connection fee. Once you log in
the credit you have will appear next to your name. Then you can start calling any part of the world. But the catch here is the rate per call. The rates range around 1.7 Euro cents per minute
which is considered costlier than Callcentric
as you can make unlimited calls to any part of the world in case of Callcentric for just under $30 per month. This is where Callcentric scores over Skype and is considered the better option when it comes to PC to phone calling.

Call Philippines as Clear as the Pearl of the Orient Seas

Most Filipinos would love to hear from their relatives or friends from the US. Who won't? There's just so much to tell and burning the lines would be one helluvah understatement if you are to make an international call to the Philippines. This is because the Philippines is one of the most eventful places in the world right now. See the news to prove this.

Placing an international call could be a very wallet-pinching endeavor. But this should not always be the case. There are numerous ways to make a long distance call
especially if the destination of your call is the Pearl of the Orient
the Philippines.

Here is a rundown of suggestions on how to make that international call to the Philippines without shelling out much of your hard-earned dollars.

1. Be careful when buying call cards.

Several prepaid phone cards have hidden charges. There could be a connection fee that could be almost tantamount to getting ripped off especially when the card buyer makes a call and either the call is routed to a voice mailbox or to an answering machine. Connection fee deduction is automatically done even when the caller did not say anything yet.

Other phone card hidden charges include service fee
maintenance fee
access number and long talking fee. The expiration date should also be checked.

2. Know what type of phone will receive your call.

It won't be advisable to make a long distance call to any mobile device. This is because most of overseas carriers implement the "calling party pays" system. The tariff rate of an international wireless phone could be a lot higher compared to a call made to a land-line in the same country.

3. Say no to a telephone operator.

When you choose to be assisted by a telephone operator when placing an international call
you choose to pay considerably more. Whenever possible opt to use a dial-around service or dial direct.

4. Sign up to a prepaid long distance plan.

Various carriers offer this kind of service to those who frequently place long distance calls. Opt for those with flexible programs. These plans work like phone cards but do not have fees and charges associated with prepaid phone cards. They usually have very low domestic and international rates 24/7 and call quality is usually excellent. One more thing about these prepaid plans is the convenience of being able to use them when placing calls from any telephones be it cell phones or public phones.

5. Calling during non-business days or off-peak time will help you save.

Make the most out of these privileges by checking on what your carrier offers. Just make sure that it won't be too much of an inconvenience to the recipient of your call.

6. Bad connections should be noted.

Bad connections happen and the Philippines is not an exception to this nuisance. When this happens
take note of the time and the number you called. Prepaid calling cards rarely gives you credit for bad connections. But if you made an international call using a standard long distance carrier
or prepaid long distance plans
better check if you could be given credit for that call. They always do.

It would help if you print this info to be always reminded of the Do's and Don't's when it comes to making an international call.

With these simple tips
you don't have to worry when your phone bill arrives.

Finally
here's the step-by-step process in calling the Philippines.

a. Dial 011
which is the international code

b. Then
key in the Philippines' country code
which is 63.

c. Now
dial the city area code where your your wife and kids are.

Here are the major cities in the Philippines with their respective city area codes:

Angeles Luzon - 455

Bacolod - 34

Baguio - 74

Cebu - 32

Clarkfield
Pampanga - 45

Dagupan
Pangasinan - 75

Davao - 82

Iloilo - 33

Laguna Province - 49562

Lucena
Luzon - 42

Makati
Luzon - 2

Manila - 2

Ozamiz City - 88

San Fernando
Pampanga - 45

San Fernando
La Union - 72

San Pablo - 49

Subic
Zambales - 47

Tarlac - 452

Tarlac Province - 45

Zamboanga - 62

d. Finally
dial the remaining digits.

Also
don't forget to greet your Filipino friend using her native lingo. "Kumusta"
pronounced as "cooh-moose-TAH" surely will never fail to make her smile.

Call Germany at Rates that Cheer like German Beer

Feel drawn to Germany’s sylvan valleys and pristine alpine peaks? Does Beethoven’s music beckon you? Do you swoon over by Germany’s grandiose architecture and enchanting art and culture? Or do you just yearn for a taste of the country that brews the best beer in the world.

Now
connecting with Germany
and making calls to friends and family is quick and extremely cheap. Amongst a population of an estimated 81
338
0
people
German is the standard language of communication and has several slight variations in regional dialects. With education being compulsory till the age of 18
Germany has an astounding literacy rate of 99%.

Simple Steps to Call Germany:

* Dial the international access code – 011.

* Dial Germany’s country code – 49.

* The ‘0’ at the start of the city code does not need to be dialed.

* Dial the remaining digits.

Guten Tag (pronounced goo ten tahk) is the phrase normally used for greeting for ‘hello’ or ‘good day’ in general German parlance. However
when you call Germany
it is the norm for Germans to answer the phone with their last names first.

Over the years
rates to Germany has declined steadily. Offers between 2 cents per minute to 4 cents per minute to call Germany are now very common among long distance providers and phone card companies. What is the catch? Again
have you heard of connection fees
monthly charges and maintenance fees? These can add up big time and can easily double the rates as promised by these phone companies. And one more thing
while Germany’s phone system is one of the most advanced in the world
be aware that there are cheap long distance carriers that can actually make the connections frustrating to consumers.

No matter your reason for calling
personal
business
or leisure call to Germany. Find a long distance telecom service provider that offers a flexible prepaid calling plan that is hassle-free and requires no switching over phone companies
cumbersome PIN dialing or paying unnecessary
hidden costs generally associated with most phone cards. With these in mind
you should be able to call Germany – and don’t bother about how you call
when you call or how much you talk

Situated in the centre of Europe
at the border of the Baltic Sea and the North Sea
Germany may seem quite a distance away
but a cheaper and reliable long distance calls should bridge the gap in a matter of seconds.

Call Centers - A Backgrounder

The call center business has become one of the fastest booming industries today. In the era of customer-oriented services
the provision for accessible support is now a priority. With many companies trying to cope up with their customers’ needs and demands
the concept of the call center was born.

A call center normally operates with all its agents (or customer service representatives) in one central location. It is equipped to handle a large amount of transactions between customers and the call center agents. Transactions may be carried out through a variety of media. The telephone is the foremost form of communication in call centers today. However
transactions are also carried out via email and the live chat through the Internet.

Call centers offer a wide range of services. The first thought that comes to mind for many is support - product information
technical support
and all sorts of after sales services. However
call centers can offer more than that. They also deal with marketing and sales. Telemarketing is an aggressive form of selling your product and can yield very good results. Call centers cater to businesses which aim to increase their sales as well as provide customer services. One example would be credit card companies.

While aiming to provide information and assistance to customers
they can also increase their revenue through sales spiels given by their agents. Another service that can be dealt with by a call center is debt collection. Credit bureaus also make use of call centers to provide information on a person’s credit rating. In effect
basically anything that has to do with your customers can be done through call centers.

What is the typical set up in a call center? The term call center brings up images of wide open work spaces
with small workstations containing a computer
headset
and telephone dialer. The practice is increasingly turning to the linking of data and voice in one pathway. This integration makes for more efficient work practices and is called Computer Telephony Integration (CTI). Individual agents are normally managed by a floor supervisor who also takes calls when the need arises.

Setting up a call center requires certain technology to be applied. There is a wide range of available technologies for call centers today. More often than not
different types of technologies are combined in order to achieve the most effective and efficient set up. The Computer Telephony Integration has already been mentioned is one of the trends in the business today. In fact
CTI is used to combine most applications used in call centers - voice
email
fax
and web. CTI provides many functions such as caller ID
on screen dialing
on screen phone controls (conference calls
hang up
hold
etc.)
and agent status control (whether agent is available for calls or not).

With all these advances in technology and developments in consumer-oriented practices
the call center has emerged as an ideal solution for many companies. The call center provides standardized service to customers and helps cut the cost. In addition to that
the separate entity of the call center subtracts from the actual operational considerations of the company.

Call Canada Through a Cool Connection at Hot Rates

Planning to go to Canada to finally go for an awesome and long-awaited vacation in Alberta with your granny? Well what are you waiting for? Book it!

Extremes of climate heat and cold symbolize Canada
a country distinguished by its multi-racial citizens. Citizens include people of: European
Indian
Arabic
American
Italian
Hispanic and Caribbean descent. The aboriginal inhabitants of Canada also add to the distinct flavor of the country. Situated in the northern side of the North American continent
Canada captivates you with its pristine
scenic beauty. From snow-capped mountains to serene lakes and rivers and wooded forests
Canada beckons you with its natural environment.

Though you are not at any rate short of funds
“No so fast!
your mind tells you. Too bad you have never placed an international call to Canada. Now you just have to forego the masterplan til somebody offers you to make that call for you. NOT! It just so happened that you are not led to this article just for any reason. Fortunately
information regarding how to make an international call to Canada abound and they were just so packed here for your convenience. And guess what? You are about to learn to save some precious dough too. So
just read on.

Easy tips to save on your international calls.

It is recommended to not make an operator assist you with your calls. This would cost you dollars when you can just spend some few cents in making that phone call. Another piece of advice is to avail of flexible prepaid long distance calling plans offered by various telecommunications sources.

Know your calling patterns. According to your habits in making international calls
whether you are a night or day caller or non-business days caller or not
informing the company that you are eyeing on to give your business will be of great help.

The real deal in placing international call to Canada:

Take note that the country code for Canada is 1. This number is also known as the routing number
prefix
and country code.

Any mistake on this number could lead you to other countries. Surely you would not want to be greeted by somebody speaking Hungarian or Japanese. That would be a waste of money too. If you do not want to suffer these consequences
better be really on your toes when dialing all the numbers you are supposed to dial.

Here is a list of the area codes in Canada:

Alberta 403

British Columbia 250

British Columbia (Lower Mainland) 604

Manitoba 204

New Brunswick 506

Newfoundland 709

Nova Scotia 902

Ontario (London) 519

Ontario (North Bay) 705

Ontario (Ottawa) 613

Ontario (Thunder Bay) 807

Ontario (Toronto Metro) 416

Ontario (Toronto Vicinity) 905

Prince Edward Island 902

Quebec (Montreal) 514

Quebec (Quebec City) 418

Quebec (Sherbrooke) 819

Saskatchewan 306

Simple Steps to Call Canada:

Dial the international access code – 011 (no need to dial this code if you are calling from USA).
Dial Canada’s country code – 1.
Dial the city code of the place you want to connect with. (e.g.: Alberta city code is 403 and Manitoba city code is 204.)
Dial the remaining digits.

Avoid calling direct unless you are well-off enough to not mind spending a hefty amount on making that simple and effortless international call. A prepaid phone service is a lot more practical. Also
if you despise dialing too many numbers
most prepaid call services do not require you to dial any pin. Just shop around for the best rates.

Despite the fact that English and French are the official languages of Canada
understanding the local parlance can be quite daunting. For instance
a ‘mickey’ is not a cartoon character
but a small bottle of booze; and the Royal Mountain police are referred to as the ‘Mounties’.

Aside from this effort in learning the instructions in placing a call to Canada while saving money
you might want to go that extra mile to make your international calling experience a bit more rewarding than the usual. Go greet the person you’re calling with a homely "Bonjour" since French is also one of the major languages used in Canada. It won’t just surprise your call’s recipient. It might also just make his or her day.

Cable TV Your Area Information Source

Many people believe that cable TV is a thing of the past. But it is alive and well today. The people who make technology possible for all of us have continued to put thought into your entertainment options through cable TV. When you sign up for cable
you can get more than two hundred high quality channels. And who could ever need more than that many channels?

One reason that many people still prefer cable tv as their entertainment choice is the lack of interference by bad weather. Because cable is a direct link
as opposed to satellites
things like weather won’t interfere with the quality of your entertainment. And what better time is there to relax in front of your favorite shows than when it’s dreary and wet
and there’s nothing else to do.

Why get cable TV
when you can get competitive pricing for satellite instead? One reason to go with cable TV is to stay connected with your neighborhood. While local channels are available with satellite TV
there may be an extra charge for these channels. With cable
these channels are usually thrown in at no extra charge
although you should inquire to make sure that this is the case with any company you choose to do business with. In addition
your cable TV company will likely include some channels that exist only through cable. That may include updated and immediate area school news
city and county government programming
and other news and information for your area.

It may not seem like a big deal to have local channels. After all
the programming for channels that you pick normally has everything you want. Or those channels have almost everything. What they don’t have is your community news and events
unless you live in a very large town. If you want to know what the weather is going to be like for tomorrow
you don’t want to turn on the television and only find a forecast for someone three states away. You want to know what the weather in your region of your state is going to look like. Cable TV can help you with this. Local channels can also keep you aware of events and school closings in bad weather and more.

Many people like satellite TV because of the parental control options. Some aren’t aware that the same options are available for cable tv users. This way
you can enjoy having all the channels you want
but still restrict your children’s viewing. You get to decide what channels are appropriate for their viewing
not someone in the entertainment business. This way
your television programs can parallel your values.

Buying a PDA

Buying a PDA is not an easy decision. There are so many things to consider and so much research to do to get your dollars worth. You have to ask the questions. How much do I want to spend? What do I want my PDA to do?

Before deciding on a PDA you should know exactly what feature it has and if it meets your particular needs. PDA stands for personal digital assistant and it should perform exactly that task. It should help in making your life more organized and easier.

A new PDA does not need to be upgraded annually
so it is a worthwhile investment. It can perform several functions
some of which include address book
notes taker
GPS navigator
calculator and much more.

Given that you are ready to go forward with the purchase
your choice of a PDA model will depend on your requirements—what you want it to do. A few things to take into consideration would be the amount of memory the PDA has. If you want to store large documents or multimedia on it then you will need something with a large/expandable memory. The second is the size of the PDA. If you don’t like lugging around heavy things then get something lighter that will better suit you. The third is the battery life of the PDA. If you want to use it heavily and still be able to turn it on then you’ll need something with an extended memory life.

A PDA can be bought almost anywhere. You can buy one online from just about anywhere or
you could buy one from a physical store. I would recommend buying one from a physical store as this will allow you to evaluate both size and weight to determine whether the PDA will suit your needs.

Buying a Cell Phone and Mobile Battery Problems

Buying a Cell Phone:

An Overview
Everyday different manufacturers around the world are introducing the models with the new features. This is what needs to be taken into consideration when you go for buying a cell phone. You need to be sure about the features you want that suit your lifestyle well.

The Money Matter

Nowadays there is so much choice for an individual to buy a cell phone. Every company is producing the models with state of the art technology and features everyday. Price is the main thing that makes a difference in these different models. An expensive phone is likely to have more features
reliability and a better technology than a cheap one. Everyone wants a best phone in the market for him but high price of the cell phones comes in the way therefore price is a big thing that needs to be kept in mind while buying a cellular phone. But expensive and sophisticated phones are not everyone’s choice; there are people who just want a simple cell phone which is not much expensive but does its job well only as a cell phone. Also the extra features provided in the expensive phones are not everyone’s need. Therefore the price is a main thing to keep in mind whenever you to buy a cell phone. Do not buy a cell phone just because it is expensive; buy the one that suits your needs.

Choices in Different Vendors and their Models

Lucky for the customers that nowadays there are a huge number of cell phone manufacturers who have a vast number of models for customers to choose from. Every vendor holds certain advantages that the other lacks in. This creates a great competition which is very healthy for the cell phone industry. Also this competition results in the reduction of the price which is beneficial for the end user. Some people have liking for a certain brand but they still have a lot of choice in the models offered by the same brand. Every other day a new model is launched by a company
this is a strategy of companies to keep a customer stick to their brand and attract more.

Research is Always Better

It is always better to research about the phone you are going to buy before you set out to actually buy it. There are number of ways to know about that phone
the best one is internet. You can read the product reviews on the internet for that phone and know if there are any issues with it. You can also know the people’s view about the certain features offered by that particular device on internet. Also try to read the review by some critic about that phone; it will further clarify its view in your mind.

Miobile Battery Problems

Your Mobile Battery is Very Low
you are expecting an important call and you don't have a c harger". Nokia instrument comes with a reserve battery. To activate the battery
the key-in *3370# your cell will restart with this reserve and your instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time.

Latest Mobile Phone News

Latest Mobile Phone Models News Here

Business Phones Keep Up With Changes In Technology

The basic premise that defines a business phone has been simple and well stated for many years. Business phones
unlike home telephones
need to be able to handle a large call volume and provide functionality that is useful to the end user. This usually includes the ability to field several calls at the same time
put people on hold when necessary
and direct phone traffic to wherever it needs to go. Business phones have accomplished these tasks with flying colors going all the way back the earliest models. Even more impressive
however
is the ability business phone manufacturers have shown to incorporate new and expanding technologies into their products.

Technology has grown by leaps and bounds
especially in the last two decades. From faxes to cellular phones and the dawning of the computer age
changes that have affected phones in general
but particularly business phones
have been varying and abundant. Looking at other industries where technology has influenced design and protocols
one can easily see that not all manufacturers share the same competitiveness that business phone manufacturers share in relation to keeping their products as current as possible. Digital telephones were available before the digital alarm clock
digital wrist watch or the digital thermostat.

While it could be argued for the digital alarm clock or the digital wrist watch that this is simply a matter of function not really benefitting form
I doubt that anyone would dispute the exclusion of the thermostat in that description. Like the digitalization of the telephone
digitalized thermostats offer options that were not possible prior to the conversion. From the ability to adjust temperature settings based on time to the increased level of accuracy
digitalization has offered great benefits to this particular product. Why then
were products such as these so much slower than the business telephone to adopt digitalization?

It is more a testament to the dedication of telephone equipment manufacturers than it is a knock on other product manufacturers. The telephone business is highly competitive
and the ultimate beneficiary of this competitiveness is the consumer. Whatever changes lie ahead for technology
you can be certain that business phone manufacturers will incorporate those changes into their products.

Better Online Communication Makes Business Sense

Many companies are now doing the majority or even all their business online and foregoing the “Brick and Mortar” storefront. It is easy to see why that trend has happened. For one thing
the cost of setting up such a business is relatively inexpensive and easy. There is no need to pay for the overhead of a physical building. Also
the cost of maintaining a Web site is minimal. Moreover
the Internet provides a convenient and efficient way of marketing products. As more and more people are spending time on the Internet
the market of online customers continues to grow.

But when businesses shift from face-to-face customers to anonymous online customers
there is a loss of personal connection and trust. All the online spamming and scamming hasn’t helped the matter at all. That has eroded the trust in E-commerce and the credibility of many companies. How are you gaining and maintaining customer trust? What are you doing as an online vendor to communicate to your customers?

In an online world
business just doesn’t stop after hours and on weekends. What are you doing to answer your customer’s questions? Here are a few things that you can do to improve communication with your customers:

1. Offer a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page and online product support information. This is an excellent way of answering basic questions that may otherwise flood your support email. For example
our voice-changing product
MorphVOX
has a FAQ on the common issues that customers may come across. We also have provided detailed online documentation on topics that users may want to explore more. This takes care of roughly 95% of the questions people may have.

2. Add a support email link on your Web site for issues that can’t be resolved by the Web support. At Screaming Bee
we try to answer our customer questions within one business day. More often
we’ll answer questions within an hour of receiving the email. I believe that we have gained many loyal customers because of our aggressive efforts to meet needs in a timely manner.

3. Provide a message board or forum for customers to voice their opinions
add comments
and interact with each other. Remember that people are social creatures and like to be heard. This also helps to build up a community of users that are empowered and have a say in the products and services that you provide.

4. Write a personal email to each customer. Have you followed up on your customers after they have made a purchase of your products or services? This is essential
not only from the perspective of getting feedback on how to improve your offerings
but more importantly
maintaining the trusting
long-term relationship with your customer. Send them an email within 3-4 weeks of the first purchase. In this way their experience with your products and services is fresh in their mind. Remember
a customer who is ignored is a customer who is lost.

Spending time and effort on better communication with your customers will pay off. With three different options for businesses
it's important to understand that the phone system you choose should be reflection of your businesses size and where you expect to be several years down the road. If your company has a very small number of employees
a KSU-less system might be the right choice. KSU-less systems offer a high degree of functionality for a much lower initial investment. KSU-less phones are not tied together in the sense that traditional phone systems are. Instead
the actual handsets provide commercial phone system features
instead of connecting to a central control unit.

For mid-sized companies
key systems offer more features and are expandable for normally up to 35 handsets. Key systems utilize a central control device called the key system unit (KSU) to manage the connected network of phones within your business as well as any outgoing or incoming calls. In recent years
key systems have become so advanced that many rival PBX systems in terms of standard features and customization.

For large companies with over 35 to 40 employees
a PBX system is the way to go. PBX systems offer the greatest amounts of functionality are highly expandable. A PBX central terminal controls all phone systems in the same manner that a key system does
but can do so for a substantially greater number of phones. Almost all PBX systems come with the standard features necessary for phone system operations as they pertain to large businesses. PBX systems are highly programmable and can be configured to meet the individual needs of any business. The only downside to PBX systems is the overall expense compared to key systems and KSU-less systems. Still
if your business needs over 35 handsets or may in the future
PBX is your only choice.

There factors that will determine the size of the system you need are the number of lines and the number of extensions you will need. Lines are the number of outside phone lines your phone system can simultaneously connect to. Extensions are needed for every handset or other device that the company needs to connect to the phone system. Knowing both can give you an idea of which phone system is right for your business.

Avoid Free International Phone Card Scams when Looking for Free Long Distance Calling Card Minutes Online.

Looking for a free phone card? The abbreviations are also known to refer to the ATSC Standards itself.

ATSC Standards is a digital television format which will in the long term replace the current NTSC television system
as is the case in United States by February 17
2009
and in Canada by August 31
2011
These new high definition standards produce a display resolution better than approximately six times its predecessor — it shows off a lucrative 16:9 wide screen images up to 1920x1080 pixels in size. Not to forget
other different image sizes are still supported so that a maximum of six standard definition channels can still be broadcasted.

Sound wise
the ATSC is capable of a “theater quality” audio as it adopts the Dolby Digital AC-3 format
which also produces the 5.1 channel surround sound.

When broadcasting with the ATSC and an analog signal
two separate channels are required as the ATSC requires an entire channel for itself. As virtual channels can be remapped to any other number from 1 to 99
ATSC stations will often associate with one of the NTSC channels or all stations will use the same number.

Also
like many other systems
the ATSC is an interwoven standard
and is also heavily patented as it includes elements from MPEG
AC-3 audio coding
and the 8VSB modulation.

Comparison with Other Standards
Nowadays
the ATSC system
despite previously being criticized as being too complicated for the ordinary and over-priced to be a household system
is relatively simplified and is moderately priced compared to the current world’s most used system
the DVB.

Also
the ATSC signal
ironically
is more capable of adopting the changes in radio propagation conditions compared to the likes of DVB-T and ISDB-T. Were the ATSC capable of changing its parts such as its error correction modes
code rates
the randomizer
and the interleaver mode
it could become even more robust. Regardless of such fixed settings
it still is sturdy under various conditions.

Territories Using ATSC

Americas
Argentina
Bahamas
Bermuda
Canada
Colombia
Chile
Guatemala
Honduras
Mexico
Peru
United States

Asia/Pacific
American Samoa
Guam
Northern Mariana Islands
South Korea

Antennas Of The New Age

Antennas have been around for a long time. Before the birth of cable television
homes would need it to just to get a signal. The person would need to put this on the roof and adjust it from time to time to get better reception. Satellite television has also changed this making these crude yet useful devices obsolete.

The computer age has followed suit. There was a time that an individual had to dial up just to get an internet connection. With the development of wireless routers that come with a WiFi antenna
work using the computer can be done without the need to connect any wires.

Another term that is used for Wifi antennas are omnidirectional antennas. Some users who have this at home have said that it is better to have this replaced with a different kind. This is because the current antenna has difficulty reaching long distances since the signaling power needs to extend in many directions.

One solution to address this problem is getting an external omnidicrectional antenna that is much more powerful than the old one. This gives internet access to people who have more than one computer located in different areas of the house.

Universities and other offices use stronger devices allowing its workers to work via the web. This can be done to send emails or other important files that are essential for the entire business operation.

A strong antenna may pose a problem for the person at home. This is because the signal could reach people who live near the house and use it to gain internet access without the knowledge of the individuals who purchased the unit. In order to solve this
one should check if the external antenna is really needed. Also
aiming it a place where people in the house can only use it.

Another way of letting people have internet access at home or in the office is by adding another access point. The person would need to connect the wireless router to one that has an Ethernet cable. This is because a wireless version and the kind that needs wires are not able to work with each other directly.

The use of a repeater and an amplifier can also strengthen the signal in one’s home or in the office. This can be done by attaching it to the access point and in no time
the individual and others may enjoy doing some surfing in the net.

These devices can be bought at the nearby cyber shop or one can surf the net and buy it online. Before getting it
the individual should canvass around to get the best price available. The person should also think if it is really needed for one’s home.

Antennas come in different sizes and shapes. These are used for a variety of things such as listening to a program on the radio or for people to communicate in places that do not have telephones or cellular phones.

Various instruments have also been used to amplify the signal. The person should just choose the kind that is really needed depending on the purpose then making use of it. The potential of it is endless and it’s use in giving people wireless internet access is another marvel that people will benefit from.

Antennas - how good is your picture

Antennas are a simple thing
but they cause no end of trouble. At its most basic
you can make a working antenna from nothing more than a wire coathanger or some other piece of metal. In fact
if you stick your finger where the antenna goes
you can even act as an antenna yourself!

If you want a good picture on your TV
though (or good reception for your radio
as the case may be)
you need a good quality antenna. The best antennas for home use are generally ones that are mounted on the roof
as it is much easier for them to get a good signal from up there.

If you can’t get an antenna onto the roof for some reason
don’t worry – there are a few more alternatives to endlessly fiddling with which way the thing points. One good thing to try is a booster antenna. This is a special kind of antenna that plugs into the mains electricity
and uses the extra power to boost the signal strength that reaches your TV. Boosters are cheap and easy to use
yet can often yield a surprising leap in quality.

Another thing you might try is to use a long antenna (usually made from a long piece of wire)
and put it out of a window. While hardly very nice to look at
this also tends to improve your reception.

If you want your TV to be able to receive digital transmissions over the airwaves
then you may find that you need to upgrade your antenna. This is because some older antennas simply do not have enough bandwidth to handle digital transmissions. However
plenty of antennas are compatible with digital TV
meaning that all you need to do is add a set top box or get a TV that is capable of decoding digital transmissions out of the box.

Antenna - Mobile CB Antennas

If you were around in the mid 70s in the United States you'd have to have been living under a rock not to know about the great citizen band radio craze made popular by the smash hit "Convoy" by C.W. McCall. If you were into citizen band radio at all you knew that there was a certain prestige to having certain kinds of antennas
especially if you had a CB setup in your home.

For the mobile units
the ones that were installed in your motor vehicle
the antennas were rather simple and relatively weak. They could only send and receive a short distance depending on the time of day. In the afternoon
mobile CB antennas were lucky to reach a few miles
especially during sun spot time. At night
if you were lucky you could reach about 10 to 20 miles
maybe sometimes a little more.

Mobile antennas came in several types. One of the most popular antennas was the fiberglass model that hooked on the back bumper. These antennas were very good transmitters and receivers. Most were about 3/8 of an inch in diameter and about 2 feet tall. Some could handle up to 1000 watts of transmission power.

Another popular type of Mobile Antenna was the magnetic roof top antenna. These were not very powerful but they were real easy to hook up. Just pop the cable into your CB
which was installed usually under the dashboard in your car
and then just take the antenna
stick it out your window and pop it on your roof top. The magnet was strong enough that there would have to be a hurricane for that thing to blow off. These antennas could handle about 300 watts of power which made them a pretty low end antenna for CB use
but they were also very cheap.

Then we have the center load mirror mount antennas. The most popular of these were the Cobras. Don't let these small things fool you. They could handle up to 3000 watts of power
usually made of 24 carat gold-plated 8-gauge copper coil. These antennas were also very expensive and today go for as much as $60 or more.

Of course one of the most common mobile antennas were the trunk mount CB antennas. These were very good antennas mostly because of the center placement on the vehicle towards the front of the trunk just before the back window. These antennas were not very expensive but usually were able to handle about 500 watts and because of their good ground
were very good for sending and receiving
even with a mobile unit that wasn't that powerful. A good trunk mount antenna wouldn't cost you more than $35.

There were some other odd brands of antennas but for the most part
these were the most common. They were relatively easy to hook up. In some cases
some drilling was required through parts of the vehicle to run antenna wire but for the most part anybody could put one of these things together.

Next
we'll take a look at the most popular and powerful base antennas.

Antenna - How One Works

It's probably not something many people are interested in unless they're some kind of an electrical engineer or just bored
but understanding how an antenna works can be useful when the one on your TV or radio goes south on you and the reason is beyond your comprehension.

Trying to explain how an antenna works in simple English is not an easy task as there are a lot of technical specifications that need to be explained. But a general understanding is possible without getting into tech speak that would make Einstein cringe.

In order for an antenna to work it has to radiate. Your antenna
whether TV or radio has what is called free electrons running through it. It is these free electrons that vibrate. The question becomes
how do these free electrons vibrate and what causes them to vibrate?

Well
in real life it takes an electric field to move an electron. If you take an isolated straight dipole
the power comes from the combined fields of all the charged particles
both positive and negative
in the antenna. We'll call this field the antenna's coulomb field.

In addition to this field
the antenna exhibits a magnetic field that is the sum of the magnetic fields of all the free moving electrons. The antenna also has a dynamic electric field that is the vector sum of the dynamic electric fields of all the free electrons. What we can do is separate the electric field of the antenna at any point in space into two components. One of the components will be in phase with the total magnetic field and the other will be 90 degrees out of phase. The in-phase component is the radiation field of the antenna and the out of phase component is the induction field. At the antenna
both fields are parallel to the metal surface.

What happens is that the coulomb field and the induction field fall off much more quickly than the radiation field as the distance increases from the antenna. When you reach distances greater than a few wavelengths from the antenna
you have what is called the antenna's far field. This field is pure radiation. As you get closer to the antenna you have what is called the antenna's near field. This field is a mixture of radiation
coulomb
and induction fields. Still with us? Great
we're getting to the good part.

What ultimately happens with all these fields that makes it so that your TV or radio picks up signals through your antenna is this. The free electrons moving through your antenna are moving at their maximum speed. The right hand half of your antenna accumulates electrons. The left hand half of your antenna is where the electrons depart and leave an excess of charged ions. The coulomb field produces an imbalance and opposes the electrons' rightward motion. The electrons then stop
coast for a bit and then head back towards the left. After they reach maximum speed they then stop and process is repeated
now heading back to the right. The result is a vibration of free electrons that heats the metal and in turn generates electromagnetic waves.

And that
in as simple English as possible
is how your antenna works.

Antenna - Base Station CB Antennas

Continuing with our research into the CB craze of the mid 70s we'll take a look at what were considered the elite antennas when it came to having a CB setup. While the truckers may have ruled the roads and channel 19
it was the everyday hobbyist who ruled the airwaves from his home
and rule they did.

If you were on CB and really wanted to impress people with your booming voice over the airwaves you had no choice but to set up a base unit. Not only were the units themselves powerful but the antennas that people put up on their roof tops could have given some rival TV stations a run for their money.

Choosing a CB antenna for your base station was not easy. There were plenty to choose from and they all had their pluses and minuses.

One of the most powerful
yet most frustrating was the ever popular Moon Raker. This was a beam antenna that looked very similar to TV antennas
most having 3 elements mounted on an 11 meter base. These were called regular Moon Rakers. However
there were beam antennas that had up to six elements on them. They were referred to as a Moon Raker 6. These things were huge. The problem with them was that they were directional antennas. What this means is that depending on what direction your antenna was pointing that was where you got your best reception and transmission. So if you were speaking to somebody who was south of you and your antenna was pointing north you had to turn the antenna 180 degrees in order to get a decent reception. This got to be a pain after a while. The plus side was that these antennas were so powerful they could cut through anything once you had your target zeroed in.

Another popular base antenna was what was called the "Big Stick". This was really just a very long fiberglass antenna. They were usually about 10 to 15 feet long. They weren't as powerful as the Moon Raker but they transmitted and received equally well in all directions and therefore were great all purpose base antennas especially if you were in a centrally located area where you had a number of people you could speak to in all directions. Also
Big Sticks were relatively cheap next to a Moon Raker that sold for a couple of hundred dollars. A Big Stick was about $70.

For people who didn't have a very large budget
there were base station antennas made that quite honestly were not much more powerful than their mobile counterparts. When you take the lack of power of these antennas into account against their price tag of about $50
it made much more sense to go with a Big Stick.

The biggest problem with all of these antennas
especially in the old days
was that they were constantly interfering with TV receptions. Today with cable
things are not quite as bad.

Even though CB isn't as popular with homeowners as it was 30 years ago
you can still see these bad boys on roof tops if you look close enough. Just make sure you stop the car first before taking a look.

Anonymous Proxy

An anonymous proxy
also referred to as an anonymous proxy server
allows a client to access a file
web page
or some other resources through a server which services the requests of the client through another remote server. For example
when a client accesses a web page through an anonymous proxy
the client talks to the proxy and the proxy talks to the web page
maintaining the privacy of the client
such as his/her IP address. The purpose of such a proxy
or a server
is to protect the privacy of the client from the service and from other individuals who may be logging and inspecting the client’s connection.

Such proxies are commonly used in schools and workspaces
to pass-by potential firewalls and monitoring services in place. Students will often utilize anonymous proxies to access social networking websites deemed and blocked by the school as harming the productivity of the students. Employees of a company may try to circumvent forms of monitoring within a company that may try to track or control which websites its employees are visiting.

Anonymous proxies serve as a wall between the client and the service being accessed. These servers can be used to bypass the restrictions and access these services possibly blocked by the country or some other organization providing the Internet connection
while others may use it solely for the privacy that is possibly guaranteed.

Risks Behind Anonymous Proxies
Because of how anonymous proxies
especially those running on web pages
are designed
all data sent to the proxy servers are unencrypted. Therefore
it is possible that confidential information such as logins and passwords can be recorded by a malicious proxy server. Also
through proxy chaining
some clients could potentially fall as victims to a web page displaying a false security measures
allowing all proxies within these chains to trace the client’s activities. Thus
only trusted anonymous proxies with a clear privacy policy should be used for security sake.

Analog vs Digital Satellite Tv Receivers

In today's world
communications are of utmost importance
there is absolutely no doubt about that. Satellite tv is one of the technological breakthroughs of the 20th century. Made possible because of the massive satellite fleets deployed by different companies and with different purposes
satellite tv has in a way revolutionized communications.

The communications satellites of different companies relay on an increasingly diverse range of TV programming. And when it comes to the options you have for your satellite tv receiver
this will greatly depend on the very nature of the satellite tv service you desire to view. There are satellite tv programs which are (FTA). FTA is an abbreviation from "free to air". However
there are other satellite tv services which are encrypted
and are only available to subscribers of various satellite tv companies.

Another important distinction must also be made between satellite tv services which are analog and those which are digital. The analog services are based on electromagnetic waves that vary in their frequency. I am sure you have heard of the term FM
which is short for frequency modulation. Also
analogue transmissions can vary in intensity. In the latter case
the process is called amplitude modulation
or AM.

But digital signals are a different story entirely. And yes
we have entered in the digital age
where everything is made up from many 0s and 1s. This is also how a digital signal is broadcast
in a series of binary digits called bits. 1 means on
0
means off
and this is how information is actually transmitted to the computer circuitry.

When speaking about the costs of an analog satellite tv receiver
it depends on the number of features offered (as every other electronic product). There are some low cost receivers which equal the high priced items in quality. However
there is a downside. And the downside is the fact that the operator must remember all the adjustments that need to be made and execute them
with each satellite tv broadcast.

However
since we are in the digital era
there are dozens of digital satellite tv services which are emerging all over the place. And their number will only increase in the following years
there is absolutely no doubt about that. The question of MPEG compliancy is a very debatable issue though.

And another difference from the analogue services is the fact that digital services are usually a part of a big package
which consists in a wide array of channel options. This is because digital compression makes combining more channels in a single digital stream possible. This is how "bouquets" are created
and these packages have a great appeal to people who always want "all in one". Having multiple channels in a single package is very convenient
as more and more types of tv stations emerge all over the world. These stations are very specialized. If you want to want sports
entertainment
or everything else and from over the world
there never has been a better time for that with the help of digital satellite tv.

An Overview Of The Blackberry

Unless you have spent part of the past few years in a cave or under a rock
you have heard of the Blackberry. However
and with that said
even though you may have heard of the Blackberry
you may now know exactly what a Blackberry is in essence. Therefore
this article has been prepared to provide you with some basic information about the Blackberry.

In basic terms
a Blackberry is a line of mobile communication devices that allow you to undertake a number of different tasks through the use of the Blackberry itself. For example
a Blackberry is designed to allow you to read and respond to email. On top of reviewing
reading and sending email
there are many other functions that can be performed with a Blackberry. Indeed
on so many levels
the Blackberry truly is an all purpose piece of personal communications equipment.

In promoting the Blackberry
its manufacturer has described the Blackberry as a “complete package” that includes airtime
software and a mobile communication element that allows you to undertake a wide variety of tasks -- from the palm of your own hand. Presently
the Blackberry widely is available in the United States
Canada and United Kingdom. Present plans are in place for the Blackberry to be introduced in other countries the world over in the very immediate future.

Technically speaking
the Blackberry in the United States and Canada relies on either the narrowband PCS 800 Mhz DataTAC network or the narrowband OCS 900 Mhz Mobitex network for its functionality. In the United Kingdom
the Blackberry operates on the the GPRS network.

Many who have taken to the Blackberry have sung its praises because it is easy to use. It has a very user friendly interface and an easy to manipulate keyboard (unlike many similar products that have tragically difficult keyboards). With few exceptions
a person who tries a Blackberry ends up very fond of the Blackberry. Oftentimes a person who has a Blackberry can be found to remark that he or she cannot imagine getting by without a Blackberry.

If you are interested in owning a Blackberry
you should spend some time shopping around in both the brick and mortar world and on the Internet and World Wide Web. In this day and age
there is a wide array of different retailers that offer Blackberry products for sale both in the real world and in cyberspace. By taking the time to shop around
you may even be able to find a Blackberry at a discounted price.

On the Net
there are retailers that cater specifically to the selling of Blackberry products. In addition
any number of auction and overstock sites may be found to have Blackberry products in their inventories.

In the brick and mortar world
a Blackberry can be found at any number of consumer electronic stores -- large and small. By paying attention to sales and specials
you may even have the chance to obtain a Blackberry at a discounted price in the brick and mortar world.

An Introduction to Internet TV

You use the Internet and
of course
you watch television
but have you ever tried Internet television?

Most people are unaware of one of the more recent developments in interactive Internet use. This new technology brings all the benefits of the Internet and television together to create your own personalised viewing experience. In simple terms Internet television means that you can watch TV straight from your laptop or desktop PC.

Internet TV allows you to you maximize the use of your computer and your Internet connection. I expect you have probably thought that there must be more you could do with your personal computer or laptop. You know that typing the occasional letter
transferring your MP3 collection to your iPod or playing the odd game or two online is hardly making use of its full potential. Now you can explore a trusted method of entertainment with access to unlimited viewing and you don't even have to stop your usual computer activities.

If you are someone who can’t get enough of watching programs on television
think about how Internet television will open up new options for free viewing. You can catch up with current news stories
watch real time sports action
keep up to date with stock market movements or enjoy a little light comedy. You are provided with a wide variety of entertainment possibilities that continues to grow
gaining in popularity every day.

At the time of writing
FIFA World Cup 2006 is just around the corner and
for many
Internet TV will provide access to free live football streams. Viewers will be able to keep up with the latest action from all the international football games involving teams including Brazil
Argentina
France
England and many more. Japan's third largest TV broadcaster
Tokyo Broadcasting System
has recently announced plans to air World Cup programmes over the Internet and on mobile phones.

If you use the Internet for any kind of research (even if it's only helping the kids with their homework)
you no longer have to view what you find in the usual format of text and pictures. Now you can see this information through streams of live or pre-recorded video enabling you to see details that simply wouldn't be visible in a series of pictures.

5 Features of Internet Television:

1. Stations are available internationally. Currently over 150 countries have Internet access so you can rest assured that your country has at least one Internet TV station you can watch.

2. No additional hardware is required. In the past
watching television on your computer would require the fitting of a PC TV card but this is no longer necessary. Improvements in the telecommunications industry have made broadband connections more widely available and cheaper than ever before allowing more and more people to view high quality streaming media on their computer.

3. Anyone with an Internet connection can watch. A minimum connection speed of 56K is recommended and watching at this speed should give you a reasonable picture. Higher connection speeds will improve the picture quality (dependant on the server capabilities) and the fastest connections can enable you to view programmes in DVD quality.

4. New channels are added all the time. Major players in the Internet industry have recently started showing significant interest in this rapidly expanding market. Google is developing Google TV and has signed up American channel UPN and is in talks with the BBC in the UK to provide content. AOL is launching IN2TV which will show thousands of hours of programmes from Warner Brothers across 6 different channels and Yahoo has plans to show Internet TV in Japan which could lead to a worldwide service if successful.

5. Personalize your experience. Normal televisions have fixed channels which depend on the local stations or the cable operators. Internet television gives you the opportunity to bookmark your favorite stations so you can get back to them quickly without having to flick through everything else available. There is usually the option of viewing in either full screen mode or in a smaller window enabling you to get on with other things on your computer while watching.

You too can enjoy all the benefits of Internet television. The world really is at your fingertips now you have discovered this new
hassle-free way of watching TV.

An effective way to earn money for your company leading to greater future financial success

As supervisor of a large company
one of my greatest concerns is to limit expenses as much as possible to ensure further company success. It remains a constant part of my job responsibility to lower costs and always be thinking of cost-effective ways to continue business in my department. After my boss purchased a complete new phone system
I decided that we should sell our old AT&T equipment back to the company we purchased the new one from.

Coming up with effective ways to begin back money within your company can add future financial success to your company. This innovative way of thinking will make you more valuable to your company. Ultimately
encouraging the owner or whomever is in charge of expenses
to continue to invest in more equipment that will not only help you but other employees.

By implementing more effective systems within one’s company
it allows for the company to remain on the forefront for upcoming technology and also allows for greater success for employees. Their workload can significantly be eased by the installation of a new phone system. Customer service representatives’ greatest concern is the needs of your customers. If their needs are not met
your revenues are affected.

Making the right decision on a new phone system could be the determinant of your business success. This new equipment will allow employees to work more efficiently and with less stress. It has been proven that less stress allows for more productivity. For example
by purchasing a complete new phone system with multiple lines
employees can be more specified in work responsibility.

In my printing company
customer service representatives are each assigned separate responsibility concerning orders received by mail
email or fax. By having multiple lines
the receptionist can easily transfer customers to their specialized representative to better suit their needs.

The installation of this new equipment has my business running at its best. After this investment
I am actively seeking out additional ones that will continue to secure my future financial success. Staying updated with one’s equipment allows for greater work flow and happier customers.

Amazing Communications

As history has progressed and technology has continued to advance
life has become full of more and more good things. Without a doubt
one of the best things that our society has gained from the advances of technology is communications.

Consider for a few moments all of the amazing forms of communications that have made your life easier and more full. First and foremost in many peoples minds is the telephone. Even if you like to write letters once in a while
can you honestly imagine if letter writing and telegrams were the only way to communicate with people? Think of the countless ways that having phones have improved worldwide communications. My telephone allows me not only to call my next-door neighbor but the communications a telephone allows also enables me to call a friend who has moved to Africa in just a few moments time.

If having the telephone doesn't impress you enough
think about the way the internet has improved communications and many other aspects of your life. The internet has literally connected people from every corner of the globe by the simple click of a button or two. Our communications with people have become easier
more frequent
and faster. You can send a message to a business parter in Tokyo and receive a reply within mere seconds. Amazing.

The improvements in communications have opened up a world of possibiility to people in the area of travel. Places that were once impossible to reach are now not only possible to reach but also convenient and quick. Each time I sit in an airport I find myself amazing by the incredible communications system that keeps air traffic in control around the world. I can definitely see how an air traffic controller is the most stressful job in the world
but there is no way the job would even be possible without the intricate communications system we have to use.

With a less advanced system of communications
life would be different for individuals around the world
but life would also be different for countries and international relations. Imagine trying to keep the peace with an overseas country by the exchange of letters? Decades would pass before any amount of substantial communication could take place. Chances are high that we would enjoy far fewer privileges to visit or move to other countries without a great communications system like what our world has in place.

Before you pick up the telephone or sit down to check your email
take a moment to be grateful for the afffects of advanced communications in your world and in your life.

All You Need To Know About Proxy Sites

The proxy server connects the computer you use and the Internet. The Internet is used for accessing information
as we all know
and the proxy server helps with checking the information. With a proxy server
the information you try to access
will first get transmitted to that and only then reach your computer.

With proxies
one will talk about the security one needs while using the Internet as well as increasing the speed if you are downloading files. There are anonymous proxy servers
which could help you hide the IP address. With this
anyone trying to gain access to your computer through the Internet may not be able to do so.

Anonymous proxies can be used for any web pages
including free email sites. Proxies will help you transfer files at a faster speed
and also connect you to the Internet at a faster pace. Any kind of information you need will be instantly given to you. The most important advantage of proxies
is your privacy. It protects you from malicious Internet users.

Proxy sites will also allow you to surf the web without anyone’s knowledge. This is especially useful for secret agencies and government organizations. It will help you redirect the request for information that you have asked for
thereby making you anonymous. There are even three types of proxy servers
and they are transparent
anonymous and high anonymity.

The first one is applicable only for high transfer
the second may quote that you are using a proxy
but the third allows you to be completely anonymous. Using proxies is claimed to be legal
as there are people even offering these services to the public. These servers are very similar to web servers. There is no such rule that the Internet has to be used only in a certain way
as it is for public use.

Thus anyone can use proxies
if they think they feel vulnerable with the use of the Internet. This is a great way to maintain privacy with the other users. But we also need to be careful of certain proxies. They may be associated with hackers.

It is not at all difficult to get a proxy list. It is easily available on search engines
and anyone needing that can obviously gain access to them as soon as they need. While one may not be immediately familiar with the use of the proxies
a little time and research will help the user become familiar very easily.

All About Calling Cards

Advantages Disadvantages of Bluetooth

While using the Bluetooth feature
you can run through a lot of advantages to and at the same time and run to a lot of disadvantages also. With about every great technology
there has to be something in there that makes it not perfect. There's probably no such thing of a perfect product. A few advantages and disadvantages of Bluetooth includes the following.

Advantages:

Widely Used: Bluetooth is now really popular and keeps getting more popular as time passes by. It is now widely used across countries and almost by everyone. Companies are taking the benefit by using this in their new and future products to make life much easier for everyone. Pretty much very soon
you will be noticing quite a bit of technology will be wireless due to Bluetooth. As it is already
but most likely it will be more dominant. You can use Bluetooth on laptops
cell phones
music players
headsets
printers and a lot more other products.

Feature Simplicity: You do not need to know much about technology in order to run Bluetooth. Anyone that doesn’t have no knowledge about the new technology can still be able to use the Bluetooth feature due to its simplicity and the ease of use. I think that the simplicity of it and the fact that it's wire free makes it very widely used and utmost popular.

Free of Charge: Best of all
you do not have to pay a penny for the service! It's not an extra cell phone or cable bill that you have to add to your budget. Simply by the technology and you're done! All you need to do is connect it with what you are using. There hasn't been any reporting lately on companies charging a monthly fee or any fee for people to use the Bluetooth feature and I don't expect it.

Go Wireless!: It allows you to stay cord free and do not have to worry about finding the correct place to connect that extra long cord. Avoid having to have a ton of cords wherever you go. You may still need a few cords but not as much as you would without Bluetooth. You can also go to the internet wirelessly with this feature when you're out somewhere outside of your home.

Your in Control: Even though you are able to exchange data across your cell phones
you still have the ability to keep your information private. In order to make a transfer or allow someone to access the files on your phone
you will have to give them access by accepting or rejecting the request through your phone. If you have the Bluetooth feature enabled on your phone and not disabled while using it
others that you may not even know request to send you a file.

Disadvantages:

Battery Use: This occurs mostly on your cell phone but also occurs in other technology such as music players. You're using up more battery power when you leave your Bluetooth enabled on your phone all day. To disregard all this
the best thing that you can possibly do is disable it once you are completed with the transfer. It only takes a few seconds to enable and disable so it wouldn't hurt to disable it once you are done using it.

Bluetooth Internet: Throughout all devices
when using Bluetooth internet
the connection can sometimes run very slow so Bluetooth internet is not highly suggested for all cases.

As you can notice that there are quite a bit of advantages and fewer disadvantages. Overall
Bluetooth is a great thing to be using on all your devices that supports it. You can do so much with it and includes cutting all the cords attached to your devices.

About VoIP

What is VoIP? Is it useful
or inexpensive? The answer is that VoIP is Voice over Internet Protocol. Voice over the Internet allows connections all over the world. It is one way to have a free pc to phone international call. In other words it is a phone call from pc. Yes
it is useful
and it is inexpensive
especially if you like the word free. Some Voice over Internet service may allow you to only call anyone who has the same service
but some will allow a phone call to anyone with a telephone number including international numbers.

Easy Free PC To Phone International Call
Voice over Internet Protocol allows the converting of your voice into a digital signal that travels over the Internet. If you are calling a regular phone number
using a broadband service
the signal is converted to a regular telephone signal before it reaches the destination. In layman’s terms you are using your Personal Computer via a modem or phone adapter to connect to the Internet
and the receiving person will answer via PC or telephone. This allows the free pc to phone international call. This all happens with this broadband Internet connection instead of a regular or analog phone line.

The equipment needed to make this happen are a broadband high speed Internet connection. A computer
adapter or other specialized phone is required. Some Voice over Internet Protocol services only work over your computer or a special VoIP phone
while there are other services that allow you to use a traditional phone connected to a VoIP adapter. If you are going to use your computer as a phone call from pc then you will need to have some software and an inexpensive microphone. Some special VoIP phones plug directly into your broadband connection and operate largely like a traditional telephone. If you use a telephone with an adapter
then you will use the phone like you always have.

In order to make the VoIP free pc to phone international call you must make certain that your Internet provider will allow you to make those calls. It comes down to what your subscription service will allow on their services. Check into that before you decide if VoIP is right for you. One of the advantages of VoIP is that you may be able to avoid paying for both a broadband connection and a traditional telephone line
which will save you money. More so if you are able to make a phone call from pc. If you are traveling overseas or to another country you may take your phone and adapter with you
and connect to another computer. This makes you able to use your same provider to make phone calls back home.

The disadvantages are that the VoIP will not work during power outages and the service provider may not offer backup power. Not all VoIP service connects directly with emergency services such as 9-1-1. Nor will some providers offer directory assistance or white page listings. These seem to be the downfall of having VoIP service. The computer does not have to be turned on for the VoIP to work
but the broadband connection must be active or live. The other piece of news is that you can use both the computer and the VoIP phone service at the same time. Yes
this is one good way of making your free pc to phone international call.

The option is for you to check with your Internet service provider. Make certain you have all software and possible adapters
as well as the broadband connection. With the right equipment you will be able to make a free pc to phone international call. If you are attending school
working overseas
or checking on the family back home
then VoIP is a wonderful tool to connect with loved ones
and special people. This is a way to have your free pc to phone international call. The tools are available. Your next step is to set up your computer and Internet service provider for a Voice over Internet Protocol.

A Quick Guide to Spy Phone Software

Spyphone is a 100% software based solution which users can download and convert any latest Nokia phone into a sophisticated spy device within a minute. Such device may have several spy features.

If you call a spy phone from a predefined number
it makes no visible or audible indication that it is in operation
and you can listen to any conversations or discussions in progress around the spy phone. Conversations within 5 to 10 metres of the spy phone are completely audible. The software can be activated or deactivated by sending a silent sms to the converted phone and works on GSM networks only.

Yet another interesting spy feature is called sms forwarding. Upon installation of the spy software on the target phone
it enables to receive duplicate copies of all incoming and outgoing text messages that will be forwarded directly to the predefined number.

The spyphone software controls the basic functions of the cell phone such as incoming call handling
backlight
log engine and installation logs. No hardware tweaking of any kind has to be made and that there are no special steps for customising the cell phone. The software is also invisible to the end user. Moreover
no parts of the software can be traced to be installed on the phone or logs of incoming calls.

What could you use the spy phone for? In truth
the list is endless. You might want to check up on someone periodically
listening out for out-of-place sounds
and even intercepting real time calls between 2 parties. It can be used for listening to conversations in the office whilst away on travel. You might also use it monitor your children
wife or husband.

You may come up with a question
how to protect myself from such spy? Here is the answer. At present such spy software can be installed on Symbian based smartphones only. Never leave your smartphone unattended. Do not give the phone to someone you do not know. If you suspect that spy software is installed on your phone
bring the phone immediately to the nearest service centre. The most popular spy phone models are: 3250
5500
E50
E60
E61
E61i
E62
E65
E70
N73
N76
N77
N80
N91
N95
7610
6600
6670
6110
6120
6121

A Line for Every Extension

I recently replaced the business phone systems in the company I own to accommodate the needs of my staff. I wish I could say that it was to accommodate the needs of our customers
but sadly
that isn't the case. You see
our old phone system had many more extensions than we had lines for. It was built with the assumption that inter-office communications would be utilized more than incoming and outgoing calls. Since my company deals primarily with internet business and doesn't do much in the way of transactions over the phone
the system I put in place in the late 90's had served us well until very recently. As of late
I have had vendors who had traditionally reached me by phone sending me e-mails. They were complaining that it's often impossible to get through to me. I looked into the matter and this is what I found… Most of my employees were spending a great deal of time talking on the phone. They weren't talking to vendors
customers
service providers or other business entities. Instead
they were utilizing the phone for personal reasons.

Don't get me wrong
I'm not the type of boss who thinks it's never acceptable to talk on the phone. I understand that during the workday
things are inevitably bound to come up which require an employees' attention. We've all been there. Perhaps a child is sick or the car is in the shop needing repairs. I understand that these things often require time spent on the phone. Judging from the traffic on my lines and the astronomical phone bills I was receiving
however
this was way beyond what I think any employer would consider acceptable.

So
I decided to replace the old phone system. The new system has a line for every extension
including mine
so that vendors or anyone else will be able to reach me at any time. Since the new phone system also offers increased functionality
I had an additional feature programmed in.

Now
whenever someone makes an outgoing call
they must dial in their own code so that both the number they call and the times spent are recorded. These records are matched to the phone bill and all employees are required to mark the non-business related calls they make each month. Since the calls bear their code
they cannot say it wasn't them who made the call. Of course
they must pay for these calls. I have noticed that phone times (and my phone bills) have decreased substantially.

<category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='A Child Is Calling For Help. By combining the efforts of the wireless industry with the U.S. Department of Justice
the National Center for Missing & Exploited Childrenฎ (NCMEC) and law enforcement agencies
the Wireless AMBER Alerts™ initiative will be a catalyst for the more than 200 million wireless subscribers to aid in the search for and recovery of an abducted child.

AMBER

According to NCMEC
more than 260 children have been recovered since the AMBER Alert program began in 1997. The program-an early warning system to find abducted children-started as a local effort in the Dallas-Fort Worth
Texas
area and became a national initiative in 2003. AMBER stands for "America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response." The program is a legacy to Amber Hagerman
a 9-year-old girl who was kidnapped while riding her bicycle in Arlington
Texas
and was later found murdered.

An estimated 70 percent of Americans have wireless phones
and together they can serve as a national network that assists families and the authorities in searching for abducted children. By signing up to receive Wireless AMBER Alerts
subscribers receive information about local Alerts
as well as updates as the search progresses.

Opting In

Subscribers capable of receiving text messages
and whose wireless carrier participates in the Wireless AMBER Alerts initiative
may opt in to receive Alerts by registering at www.wirelessamberalerts.org or their wireless carrier's Web site. Users can designate up to five ZIP codes from which they'd like to be alerted in the case of an AMBER Alert activation.

Public Service

Advertising Campaign

The Advertising Council
in partnership with NCMEC
The Wireless Foundation and the U.S Department of Justice
launched a multimedia public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to raise awareness of Wireless AMBER Alerts and encourage all wireless subscribers to aid in the search for abducted children. It is the first nationwide PSA campaign to address this technology and the ads launched on National Missing Children's Day (May 25th).

Wireless subscribers can now sign up to receive free AMBER Alerts via text messages.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://communications-and-technology.blogspot.com/2009/08/child-is-calling-for-help-wireless.html' title='A Child Is Calling For Help. You may be asking yourself if wireless is for you. Well
today
many people are asking themselves the same question. If you watch the headline news
you are bound to see stories involving mergers
federal regulations
and new tax rules. This all points to the fact that VoIP has made a definite impression on American citizens and is here to stay. It may be difficult for some people to remove the telephone cords from their homes; we have depended on them for over 100 years. But once many people take the time to weigh the pros and the cons
most choose to go wireless. Here are some reasons
why you should make the switch to wireless.

1. Wireless Creates a Faster Network

Wireless networks are fast. With VoIP
you can create a network that incorporates data
audio
video
and computer web features. You can easily monitor your network for problems and troubleshooting is much simpler with web based applications rather than hardware applications. VoIP uses less bandwidth than other applications and this in the long run saves money. This is of special value to businesses. Businesses can also provide better customer service with integrated programs. Not only does this increase productivity
but also it saves time and money in the long run.

2. VoIP Saves You Money

Overall
VoIP is much more inexpensive then PSTN. You simply pay for your Internet service
and then whichever VoIP provider you choose. For a one time monthly fee
you can have unlimited local and long distance phone calls. You will need to check with the VoIP service provider that you choose for exact details on their rates. Sometimes
your VoIP service provider will allow free calls within the world to another computer
yet there may be a fee for calls worldwide to a landline phone. Always check with your chosen service provider for exact details regarding your chosen plan. Included in many VoIP service plans are free features. These features include Voicemail
Caller ID
Call Waiting
Do Not Disturb
and more. Again
check with your chosen service provider for an overview of all the features bundled with your plan. The biggest benefit is the unlimited long distance calling. This has proven to be the number one reason why most businesses are switching to VoIP. For businesses such as sales or jobs that have mobile employees
these benefits go without saying. But overall
the average cost of VoIP is considerably less when compared to the cost of PSTN.

3. VoIP Enables you to Talk with More than One Person at a Time

With VoIP
you can talk with more than one person without paying extra for services such as three way calling. With VoIP you can have more than three people on the phone at once. VoIP is the perfect solution for those who want to explore the features of conference calls. This is very important for businesses that have employees overseas. By using the video conferencing features
employers will increase their productivity.

4. Enjoy Greater Flexibility

By using VoIP
you can take your VoIP equipment with you whenever you travel. Your VoIP service provider will send you a converter that will allow you to use your converter with any standard telephone. The converter comes programmed with your telephone number
allowing you to take your phone and phone number with you worldwide. All you will need is a high speed Internet connection and you can use your VoIP phone service. This is of extreme benefit to mobile employees. No longer are outdated telecommunications systems necessary
or are employees trying to run businesses on prepaid cell phone plans. By using VoIP
an employee will have access to his/her phone number
wherever they are located. Whether out of state
in a hotel
or traveling on a business trip
customers will be able to call the same number as well as leave voice mail on the employee’s computer.

5. You can Save Money for Family and Friends by Choosing Your Area Code

Many VoIP service providers will give you the option of selecting your own area code number. This is a tremendous benefit to family and friend members who can call you locally
if you select the same area code number.

5 Easy Ways to Increase Your Business Using a Toll-Free Number

Toll-free numbers allow customers to contact your business without them having to pay for their call. Studies have shown that consumers are more likely to call a business with a toll-free number than those who only have a long-distance number
and 90% of Americans say that they use toll-free numbers. By following these five easy steps
you can discover for yourself how a toll-number can help your business grow.

1. Expand your market. Toll-free numbers allow you to use the same number for receiving local toll and state-to-state calls. This gives you the opportunity to market your business nationwide. Even if you don't provide service in certain areas
toll-free numbers have the flexibility to block calls from those areas.

2. Advertise your number. Toll-free numbers lend an air of legitimacy and professionalism to your business. By using a toll-free number
your business may appear larger and more established to the consumer which will make him/her trust you more.

3. Initiate a direct response mechanism for impulse buyers. By allowing your customers an avenue to immediately react to your company's efforts calling for their action
this prompts significant increases in phone orders. It has been found that these buyers generally order more merchandise and higher ticket items nearly every time they call.

4. Qualify your buyers. Toll-free numbers enable your business to use time more efficiently and effectively. With a toll-free number
you know that someone who has called your business is already interested in what you have to offer. You spend less time trying to find interested prospects and let the number find them for you.

5. Analyze your call detail. Toll-free numbers allow you to track calls and access all of a call's details such as the number
time
date and duration of every call. This information cannot be blocked and is an excellent tool for generating leads which can lead to more sales.

3 Tips for Sending Special Messages

Staying in touch with family and friends has never been easier with the speed and efficiency of today's technology. We live in a world of e-mail
text and instant messages and mobile conversations.

While such options make it easy to stay in touch
these technologies have also lessened the emotional aspect of our communications.

Here are a few suggestions on how to use technology to stay close to loved ones and
at the same time
bring back the personal element in your communications.

* Send a personal DVD message. Now you can give the gift of vivid
colorful memories by creating personalized DVD messages for your friends and family. It's a fast
easy and fun way to stay in touch.

Can't make it to your high school reunion? Use a Sony DVD Handycam camcorder to record a special message to old classmates. You can even get special Sony DVD mail envelopes to share your discs.

Encourage friends and family to reciprocate. When you receive their DVDs
just pop them into your player as you would a movie.

* Make a Webcam chat date. A picture tells a thousand words
but real-time video speaks volumes. While nothing can replace an in-person conversation
you can get awfully close to the real thing with a Webcam chat.

Gather your loved ones in front of the Webcam to talk
view photos or share advice.

First time carving the turkey? Get Dad on the Webcam - he can probably walk you through it. Schedule your chat on a special occasion - perhaps on a birthday or holiday - and don't forget to plan your next one. You can even make it an annual event.

* Create a video file on your digital still camera. Forgot your mom's birthday or couldn't attend your child's school play? Send your loved ones a video clip so that they'll know how much you care.

Be creative
shake things up and share your ideas. It's never been so easy to "be there when you're not." - NU

No Audio Device Error

If you have experienced a Windows "No Audio Device" error
it most likely means that your sound card is not installed properly. Even though other problems can cause this error
an improperly installed sound card is the most common reason. If the audio card isn't properly connected in the motherboard or you do not have an audio controller connected
you will get this error. Also
it is possible that the device you are trying to use is not compatible to the motherboard you are using.
Troubleshooting the most common error
Here are a few steps to take to solve the most common error
an improperly installed card:
You will first need to find your audio controlling device or controller. This controller is what gives you the ability to adjust the sound for everything. From your start menu
go to your control panel. Then
go to add hardware and search for the hardware yourself. Don't let the computer search for it automatically
because if it is improperly installed it may not be seen. Then
scroll down to sound devices and search for your audio controller. Check the properties of the device
and see if it is installed properly. If it isn't installed properly you will see a yellow highlighted question mark beside the device's name
• The best way to solve this problem is to uninstall your sound card and drivers. You will reboot
enter the bios
disable the onboard audio
game port
and midi. Then boot back into windows
go to add remove programs and make sure that any programs for the device was removed.
Next
you should reinstall the sound card and drivers. It is possible driver updates have been made since the sound card was manufactured and released
so it is a good idea to visit the manufacturer's site and see if there are driver updates. Once you do this
restart the computer again. The problem is (more than likely) the default device in audio properties is still the onboard
you can select the creative devices and it will probably work
but it will be better to disable the onboard all together.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the sound card will more than likely fix your problem.
Other troubleshooting tips
If you are still experiencing difficulties
try these other troubleshooting ideas.
• If you think your sound card may be 'dead'
before buying a new one
I would recommend borrowing one that is fully functioning from a friend
if possible
and installing that one to see if the error is in the card itself.

• Try using a different PCi slot
that way windows may detect it as new instead of trying to reconfigure it on the slots its currently on. This can also help you to determine whether one of the slots are bad.
• If you have an onboard sound card but are trying to use a sound card you bought separately
ensure the onboard one is disabled.
Always ensure the sound card you purchase is compatible with your board. If it doesn’t say on the packaging
do a little research online prior to the purchase.
